'Radical'

I'm sure we've all been here. Someone gives a testimony about how God is working in their lives. Immediately we may feel they are making us look bad. 'Really, do they have to be this radical?' We each know someone who takes their faith 'just a little too far'. Of course this is not true. I think we all know that (myself included), but our sin nature creeps in. Doubt and fear of rejection come crowding in and rob us of the opportunity to share Christ with another person. Come now, lets be honest. I have no one to blame but me. Witnessing is the hardest thing to do. But we are commanded as believers to be lights to a dark world.

In our Sunday School, a man named Chuck shares each week about the awesome ways God is working in his life. Chuck has a drug/alcohol history. He acknowledges his responibility in how it tore his family apart. He has a wife and son. He and his wife are separated, but he is faithful to her and continues to pray for her and wear his wedding band. I don't know if reconciliation will happen for this family ( I don't believe his wife is saved), but I do know we serve an amazing God. He can heal any situation.

A few years ago Chuck turned his life around for Jesus. We had a revival at our church in January, and since then he has been unstoppable! Friends of his past are amazed at the change and he has been able to lead some of them to Christ. Chuck is real. He doesn't live out his faith in church only. He lives and works for Jesus. He is a simple man, doesn't dress fancy, talk fancy, or play a part. He simply loves Jesus. The Lord blesses his obedience.

I find myself sitting in Sunday school smiling and wanting to be 'radical' too. By the way, Chuck himself was the one who said he was 'radical'. This morning he told the class how God led him to six people who needed salvation this week. All six were strangers and all six accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord!

As Christians we over complicate it. The Lord made it so simple to be saved. We have the Good News. Lets share it with a world dying and going to a lost eternity!

Have a great week. I pray the Lord will send each one of us an opportunity to share the Gospel this week.
